Do people give a shit about autographs, more importantly about executive autographs.
Here is Al-Mull, Ford boss, signing autographs this morning. He's not a celeb/athlete. Or an author, technically, though I'll assume he has written books, or at least shouted into a recorder and then thrown it at a plebeian scribe.
I guess if I had some sort of sports memorabilia signed by a team/athlete it's something cool to have and collect. But an ex-CEO of Boeing signing a horse emblem on a print that was given to the crowd?
I think Bobert Lutzman is a pretty swell dude, but I'm not going to ask him to sign my man-ass if I ever cross paths. I'll just kidnapp him like the plan has always been.

Meh, given the chance I'd have him sign something but I wouldn't go out of my way or stand in line for it.

People ask me for my autograph all the time.
...then I find out they just think I'm Fred Savage. :(

I do.
You see, to me, there's something inherently personal and rare about asking for an autograph. I have a handful of autographs, but it's incredibly rare that I will ever try to get one. Those that I do have aren't necessarily of famous people, either - they are the autographs of people that I respect the ever living hell out of.
Understand, I respect most people (though there are notably exceptions), but everyone once in a long, long time you come across someone who just takes it to an altogether different level, and go far above and beyond. Those people are as rare as hen's teeth, but when I meet one, I will almost certainly ask for an autograph, as a reminder to myself that such people do exist, and that maybe I can be such a person myself.
